People Respond to the Good News in Different Ways

One evening in October, Juanito held a Bible study in a man’s home. The next day, Juanito preached the message at the Jolog Church of Christ. The man in whose home the Bible study was held the night before attended that service. After Juanito’s preaching, an invitation was extended, and the man came forward to accept the Lord as his personal Savior and was baptized.

The next week, Juanito traveled four hours from his home to have a special Bible study with a couple who was interested in hearing the Gospel. Upon hearing the good news, they accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and Juanito baptized them.

Sometimes the Gospel is preached to a group at a worship gathering and people respond. Sometimes the Word is shared with individuals, and they respond. In Acts chapter 8, we read that Philip was preaching to crowds in Samaria and people were responding. But an angel of the Lord told Philip to go to a desert road where he encountered one man, the Ethiopian Eunuch. The Ethiopian accepted the word, was baptized, and went on his way rejoicing!

We never know who or under what circumstances people will respond, nor do we know the result of our sharing the message. Thank God, Juanito was there in these situations to share the Good News!
